My interview with Natasha Bedingfield
Natasha Bedingfield is soon entering Sweden again with the new album ”Strip Me Away” which release date here is August 19. In my interview with the great singer she talks about the love for her new music, The Hills and who her favourite makeup artist is!

The new single ”Strip Me” – tell me the story behind that song?
- It’s about how we are and we’re all very connected and we’re all in our humanness. We all have the same desires and fears.
Do you want to reveal more about your upcoming album ”Strip Me Away”? I know you’ve been working with the swedish artist Kleerup.
- Yeah its more of a ”less is more” theme. I find that this is my best album yet. Kleerup is a genius, I love him and I want to work with him some more. He’s really smart and also fun! I’ve heard some tracks of Kleerups new album. I think that he will get some award for it cause he’s very good.
That is your third album coming. I bet all of them has its own good thing for you but if you should introduce yourself to a person that never heard or seeing about you. Which album would you pick?
- Ah. I would say this one. I think it’s more me. You know it’s where I’m at right now and your album should always be how you are right now. You know I think you can’t really seperate yourself from the past. The album is a good snap shot for now!
I guess everybody knows about the show ”The Hills”. Even though I am one of those who doesn’t watch it I know that the signature song is your ”Unwritten”. Must have been a fun thing for you to be a part of. Tell me about the proposal you got?
- My song really became a hit in America. Number one pop song. You know it’s playing everywhere and MTV had this new show and they came to me and said ”Hey, we love to put your song on the show. Would you like to?” I thought that was cool cause I have my music in other shows, movies and things like that. Then it became their number one most watched shows. That was really cool!
You’re born in New Zeeland, raised in London, England and now you live in Los Angeles. Where do you consider yourself ”home”? I guess every place has it’s own feeling.
- The world. I mean I have a home in England. Probably the air plain is my home. Haha no, just joking but really you know England is where I’m from and New Zeeland is also where my family is from so it’s a bit of both.
When your album is releasing in August here in Sweden. I’ve heard you’re planing to lay your focus here. Why just Sweden?
- I think Sweden is very inspiring to me and I think that there’s just a natural style here. No fear of breaking the rules. There’s this freedom I feel very inspiring. So I wanna spend some time here and I also want to intruduce me to the people here personally. Doing some shows.
That’s good cause you know people here really miss you.
- Ohh. really? I wanna learn more swedish. I can only say a few things like ”Jag älskar dig”! It’s helpful haha.
What do you do to protect your voice? It’s very beautiful.
- Thank you! I warm up before I sing and drink lots of water.
Since I am a makeup artist myself I have to ask you who is the best makeup artist you’ve ever worked with?
- She’s from England. Her name is Lisa Laudat.
